Case Study:
Helping a Northampton-based Fencing & Groundwork Company

A fencing and groundwork company, trading out of Northampton, approached us for help when its business took a downturn leaving it unable to pay its debts, more particularly its tax liabilities.

There was no suggestion that the quality of its work was in question, it was merely the lack of customers.

There were no director’s personal guarantees to be considered.

After assessing the company’s position and having regard to client base, lack of orders and the financial straits being imposed by government policy, the decision was made to liquidate the company and for the director to use his own funds to purchase the assets through a phoenix company.

Valuations were obtained so as to ensure that the assets were being sold on at a fair price and not at an undervalue.

The new company continues to grow and thrive.

Restoring the Reputation of an Oxford-based Transport Company

After being made victims of a fraudulent purchase on a major piece of plant machinery, an Oxford based transport company had approached us for support after the ensuing financial loss.

The very same piece of equipment had been inspected by a finance company and was shown as being fit for purpose and free from finance. After the finance company had signed off the loan and advanced the funds it was found that the machinery had been stolen and was already financed to another company altogether. To make matters worse, they also removed other tractor units that were already financed by them.

As a result, the finance company had assumed our client was guilty of both fraud and theft.

After having their reputation destroyed overnight, there was a high level of uncertainty as to how long their business might last. So, we made it our mission to prove not only their innocence but also that they were victims. We restored their business, and helped them retrieve contracts they had lost and they are now recovering both in esteem, recognition, and financially.
